Rainy weather may have loomed above the Highland Lakes over the last few months, but summer is still heating up. With warmer weather and clearer skies on the horizon, there’s no better time to step outside, jump in, and make a splash at these cool events.
When: noon-5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22
Where: Lakeside Pool, 305 Buena Vista in Marble Falls
What: Marble Falls Parks and Recreation is hosting a free day of swimming this July at the Lakeside Pool, overlooking the scenic Lake Marble Falls.
When: 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 23
Where: YMCA of the Highland Lakes, 1601 S. Water Street in Burnet
What: The Burnet Splash Fest is a free event hosted by the YMCA of the Highland Lakes, featuring a night of hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn, and of course, splash-worthy fun.
Marble Falls Pop-up Splash Pad
When: Wednesday, July 29
Where: Westside Park, 1610 2nd Street in Marble Falls
What: Marble Falls Fire Rescue is teaming up with Marble Falls Parks and Recreation to bring a free pop-up splash pad to Westside Park at the end of July, featuring a light shower of water pumped out by the fire department’s Engine 1.
When: Friday, July 31-Saturday, August 1
Where: Wakepoint LBJ, 14757 RR 1431 in Kingsland
What: The Highland Lakes’ famous gas station, waterfront bar, boat dock, and music venue–Wakepoint LBJ–will host its 2026 Wakepoint Open on the last weekend of July, bringing wakeboarding athletes from all over to compete in a day of high-octane thrills, accompanied by music, boats, good eats, and good vibes.
