Virgie Verdell Stevens
Virgie Verdell Stevens, 96, died Sept. 7, 2010, in the Holmgreen Care Center in Corpus Christi.
She was born July 24, 1914, in Monticello, Ark., to John David Vining and Evealine Bays Vining.
She married Walter L. Stevens Oct. 15, 1936, and they shared 52 years together until his death March 25, 1989.
Survivors include nephew John E. Williams and family of Corpus Christi; and Jean Pospisil and family of Portland, Texas.
A graveside service is 10 a.m. Sept. 11 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Tim Denton officiating.
