B.E. "Tuff" Martin, 79, of Cottonwood Shores died Sept. 20. He was born in 1931 in London, Texas.

He was a general contractor in Burnet County for 40 years, a trade his father taught him which took him across the country to projects in many states.

He was "Dad" to all, never knowing a stranger. He took great joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Active in community affairs, he served for many years on projects for the
Cottonwood Shores Area Volunteer Fire Department and Cottonwood Community Church, as well as supported many candidates and elected officials in their duties.
Survivors include his children, Skeeter and Peggy Martin of Fort Worth, Kathy Pope of Hallstead, Penn., Cindy Ribera and Ron Latronica of Marble Falls, Dot and Larry Bryson of Kirkwood, N.Y., Butch and Tim Hunziker of Burnet, Bengerman E. "Bengie" Martin III of Killeen, Mike and Darlene Martin of Granite Shoals, Tim Martin of Granite Shoals and the Rev. Bentley Martin, mayor of
of Cottonwood Shores; sidekick Melissa Hoefs; 29 grandchildren; and
70 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents Ernest and Ida Martin; brothers
Raymond Martin and Rae Martin; sisters Ima Jo Jowers, Johnni Mae Worrell
and Lorine Floy; wives Marlene Pratt and Gladys "Alice" Martin; and son
Ernest Martin.
A service is 1 p.m. Sept. 25 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373, with inurnment to follow at Cottonwood Community Church, Cottonwood Shores, with the reverends George Perry and Roger Lawson officiating.

Dinner will follow at his residence in Cottonwood Shores; guests are asked to bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs.
