Ben Olan Hewett

Ben Olan Hewett, 80, of Tow died Oct. 18, 2010, at his home. He was born in Madisonville May 27, 1930.
He married Bea Parham in 1953. The couple moved to Lamesa in 1954, where he was employed by the city and Lloyd Cline until 1983, when the family moved to Tow.
He owned and operated Hewett Auto Shop until his retirement in the late 1990s.
He will be missed by family and friends who enjoyed his sense of humor, his easy smile and his contentment with the simple pleasures of life.
Survivors include sons Ray Hewett and wife Geneva and Rick Hewett; their mother Bea Hewett Webb; grandsons Justin Hewett and wife Chanille, Jace Hewett and wife Madeline; granddaughters Crystal Shuler and sons Keaton, Cody and Clayton, and granddaughter Dashia Chandler and son Wayburn; and Fern Brady with whom he shared a joy of traveling, fishing and arrowhead hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Eller (Faulkner) Hewett; three brothers; and five sisters.
A graveside service is 11 a.m. Oct. 21 at Tow Cemetery with Max Hill of Killeen officiating.
