Sidney Lane Palmer
Sidney Lane Palmer, 78, of Marble Falls died Oct. 9, 2010. He was born to Roy and Ernestine Palmer Aug. 2, 1932, in Cassville, Mo.
He was a resident of Marble Falls for many years.
He loved the outdoors and the water. Also, he enjoyed sailing, kayaking, building boats and fishing.
He was a professional photographer and wood carver, and liked gardening. He also loved writing poems, stories of his life experiences and blues songs.
He played the dulcimer, guitar and mouth harp.
He learned Spanish to serve that community and was held as a spiritual father and teacher to the Jehovah’s Witness congregation in Marble Falls. He was much loved by many for his generosity and work with young people.
In later years, he ministered through written lessons and letters.
Survivors include his daughter Rowena and husband Doyle Bailey of Baytown; son Dan Palmer of Washington and daughter Roxanne; sister Danna Lee Markovich of Portland, Ore.; nieces Gretchen and Heidi; nephews Terry, Michael and Jody; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Tiki.
His family extends their appreciation to his many friends, caretakers and brethren for their help and comfort.
A memorial service was Oct. 10 at the Kingdom Hall in Marble Falls. His cremains will be scattered in the ocean.
