Katherine ‘Kitty’ Quesney Spiller Waddingham

Katherine ‘Kitty’ Quesney Spiller Waddingham, 53, of Andrews and formerly of Marble Falls, died of cancer Oct. 17, 2010.
She was born in Houston June 26, 1957, to Sam and Ellen Spiller and grew up in Baytown. There, she graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School and Lee College, where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa honorary society and the swim team.
She received a bachelor of arts degree in literature from Texas State University; there she often was on the Dean’s List and was a member of the water-skiing team.
She earned a master of arts degree in education from the University of Texas at Clear Lake City. She taught English at high schools in Houston and San Marcos.
She was proud of her lineage. A seventh-generation Texan, her ancestors were among the first Texas settlers. She belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Her grandfather George Brubaker served as county attorney in Llano County and city attorney in San Marcos.
Survivors include husband Dr. Rand Waddingham; daughter Lindsay Marie Pickerel and husband Jason; sons Matthew Christopher Waddingham and Thomas Moore Waddingham, all of Andrews; grandson Allyn Christopher Wallace of Fort Worth; parents of Marble Falls; sister Georgianne Dyment and husband Jeff and their five children, all of Cypress; aunts Mary Ann Witter of Buchanan Dam, Marcella Spiller and Jean Spiller, both of Austin, and Louise Spiller of Buda; and may cousins.
A memorial service is 1 p.m. Oct. 28 at Trinity Episcopal Church at RR 1431 East and Avenue D in Marble Falls with the Rev. David Sugeno officiating.
Burial was in the Pursely Family Cemetery near Dripping Springs.
