Wilma D. Owens
Wilma D. Owens, 85, died Nov. 19, 2010. She was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Bertram to William Massey and Eva Levingston Massey.
She met and fell in love with her future husband when they were 14 and attending school in Oatmeal. They married April 20, 1946, and had three daughters.
She was proud of her family, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching them accomplish their goals and encouraged their endeavors. She spent more than 49 years making other people more beautiful with her makeup and expertise in the cosmetic field with the Merle Norman Studio.
Survivors include daughters Sylvia Switzer and husband James of Cross Plains, Loxie Huffstuttler and husband Bobby, and Susie Pell and husband Bill, all of Burnet; five grandsons; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by husband Bobby Lee Owens on July 19, 1984.
A funeral service was Nov. 22 at First Baptist Church in Burnet with Dr. Ricky Guenther officiating.
Interment followed at the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Bertram.
