Andrea Ann Adams Reitan

Andrea Ann Adams Reitan, 72, of Horseshoe Bay died unexpectedly in her sleep at home Dec. 4, 2010. Born Nov. 10, 1938, in Toronto, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late George J. and Anna Karaffa Adams, and moved with her family in 1940 to Brockway, Penn.
She graduated from Brockway Area High School in 1956. She trained in X-ray technology under the Sisters of Mercy at DuBois Hospital in Pennsylvania, where she worked for two years.
She went to Polson, Mont., and was employed in a Catholic medical clinic as an X-ray technologist a number of years.
She then went to Moscow, Idaho, remaining in the field of X-ray. She married Robert J. Reitan Oct. 27, 1962, in Moscow. They moved in 1973 to Horseshoe Bay, where she and her husband owned and operated "The Bottle Shop" liquor store, which they sold in 1990 and moved to Plummer, Idaho, to manage a state liquor store.
She also resumed the work she loved as an X-ray technologist at the Benewah Medical Center.
After returning to Horseshoe Bay in 1996, she continued her work at Hoerster Medical Clinics until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 201 Dalton Circle in Horseshoe Bay. She was an avid football fan, supporting the University of Texas Longhorns, the University of Notre Dame and the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to her husband of 48 years, survivors include sons Tony Reitan of Burnet, Steve Reitan and wife Dandy of Kingsland, Kevin Reitan and wife Kimberly of Marble Falls, and John Reitan and wife Carol of Livingston; stepdaughter Deb Grieser and husband Ron of Marble Falls; stepson Scott Reitan of Lewiston, Idaho; brothers Monsignor George J. Adams and Richard J. Adams, both of Brockway, Thomas M. Adams and Cornelius P. "Doc" Adams, both of San Antonio, and John F. Adams of Brockport, N.Y.; sisters Mary Catherine "Cash" Keeney of Littlestown, Penn., and Barbara E. Shields of Horseshoe Bay; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Dec. 13 at St. Paul the Apostle church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor to the American Diabetes Association or the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.
