Cecile Frances Kenny Pate

Cecile Frances Kenny Pate, 80, of Austin died Dec. 14, 2010. She was born Aug. 23, 1930, in Cicero, Ill., to William and Mary Ann Kenny.
She met Grover Roy Pate Jr. while he studied for a master’s of business administration degree at Northwestern University.
They married March 24, 1953, in Fort Worth and were together 54 years until his death in 2007.
She graduated from St. Edwards University in Austin, an accomplishment that made her proud.
She and her family lived in many cities, traveling as part of her husband’s job as a landman with Conoco Inc. She was a successful real estate broker in Fort Bend County and the couple retired to a home on Lake Travis.
She was an accomplished artist with a great sense of color and decoration. She had a personal flair, which showed in her attire and in the beautiful homes she created in each city.
Outgoing and friendly, she made lifelong friends at each of their stops. She treasured her family and many friends.
After the death of a sister, she was a mom to her beloved niece.
She was very active in St. Paul the Apostle Church and several social groups in Marble Falls.
Survivors include her daughter Lauren Lehmann of Troutville, Va.; son Stewart Pate and his wife Gaye Holden Pate of Austin; grandchildren Meredith and Peter Lehmann of Troutville; Andrew Pate, Patrick Pate and Callie Pate, all of Austin; niece JoAnn Rose and husband Tom Rose; and great-nieces Katy and Amy Rose of Katy.
In addition to her husband and sister, she was preceded in death by her parents; another sister; and brother.
Burial will be private.
