Ernest Franklin Dunn

Ernest Franklin Dunn, 96, of Burnet died Dec. 27, 2010. He was born Dec. 12, 1914, in Poteet to George Washington Dunn and Susie Rebeccah Dunn.
He began his career at the Driskill Hotel in Austin. He then worked for Slaughters Meat Market for about 40 years and ended his career as a butcher at Regis Meat Market in Marble Falls.
Although he did not serve in the military, he worked in the shipyards in Houston.
He loved fishing and hunting and shared this gift with family and friends. He was raised a Master Mason at Austin Lodge No. 12 on Dec. 16, 1972, and was also a longtime member of Norton Moses Lodge No. 336 in Leander.
Survivors include daughter-in-law Dorothy Dunn of Cedar Park; grandson Clayton Dunn and wife Brenda of Leander; granddaughter Belinda Malin and her husband Ken of Cedar Park; great-grandsons Kyle, Ross and Cody Dunn and wife Lexi; great-granddaughters Courtney, Harley, Katey and Denver; great-great-grandson Levi; nephew and best friend George Bird; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 70 years, Lillie Ann Bird Dunn; son ElRoy Dunn; and an infant son.
A visitation is 6 p.m. Dec. 28 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222.
A service is 2 p.m. Dec. 29 at the funeral home with Barry Drake officiating.
A Masonic burial ceremony and interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery in Bertram.
