Mary Jamar, 75, of Marble Falls died Jan. 26, 2011. The eldest of eight children, she was born April 23, 1935, in a log cabin to James Daniel and Audie Mae Friar Hitchcock.

She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was an avid 42 player and George Jones fan. She trained waitresses at the Barn and Nighthawk restaurant in Austin. She and her husband Jack Dean Jamar owned several eateries.

She recently won second place in a chili cookoff.

Survivors include sons Jerry Dean Jamar and wife Cindy Louise, and Hollis Lee Jamar and wife Melissa; grandchildren Jason Jamar, Amanda Jamar, David Jamar, Samantha Jamar, Brandon Simpson, Brian Jamar; great-grandchildren; siblings Altha Hertel, Dorthy Raschke, Sonny Hitchcock, Jenetta McNabb, Shirley Hitchcock and Calvin Hitchcock.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

A visitation is 9 a.m. Jan. 29 until the service at 11 a.m. in Granite Mountain Baptist Church, 500 FM 1980 in Marble Falls, with Ed Walker officiating.

Pallbearers include Jason Jamar, David Jamar, Zeb Shoen, Brandon Simpson, Brian Jamar and Terry Bryan.
