Carole D. Child

Carole D. Child, 68, of Burnet died March 4, 2011, at her home. She was born in Chicago on Nov. 22, 1942, to Matthew and Muriel (Reitz) Klein.   She spent most of her life in Texas and lived in Burnet for many years. She enjoyed being a homemaker, spending time with her family and being in sales with Mary Kay Cosmetics. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and working out.

She loved helping numerous people while working as a trainer at Curves in Burnet.

She had a gorgeous smile that was unmistakable and known to all. She always looked forward to the day she would meet her savior.

Survivors include her children’s father Robert Daniel Child; son Christopher Child and wife Becky of Liberty Hill; daughter Carole “Candy” Child Hicks and husband Marty of Liberty Hill; stepdaughter Christina Turner and husband Troy of Austin; brother Matthew Klein and wife Donna of Indianapolis; grandchildren Michael, Allison and Camryn Child, all of Liberty Hill, Alysha A. Hicks Adams and husband Brandon of Bertram, Daniel Hicks of Liberty Hill, Crystal Turner and Colton Turner, both of Austin; great-granddaughter Cheyenne Adams of Bertram; niece Michelle Klein and nephew Matthew Klein III, both of Indianapolis; and family members Travis Hoffman Child of Liberty Hill and Shane and Pricilla Hoffman of Corpus Christi.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil “Gene” Child in 2003.

A service is 10 a.m. March 12 at First Baptist Church of Bertram, 325 S. Gabriel in Bertram. Cremation will follow later, and her ashes will be interred at Austin Memorial Park with her husband.
