Sara Jo Taylor, 90, of Granite Shoals died April 23, 2011. She was born in Woodsboro on Oct. 20, 1920, to Jordan Lewis and Vernon Estelle Partian Grant.

She opened Hill Country Steak House in 1980, was a member of the Women’s Business Professional Club, vice president of the Senior Activity Center, grand matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 435 and bookkeeper at Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Falls for many years. She also was president of her Sunday school’s Pastor’s Class at First Baptist Church.

As a member of the Marble Falls/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce, she received, along with her husband, the Lifetime Achievement Award in 1989.

Survivors include her sons Jon Herbert Germer of Granite Shoals and Don A. Taylor and wife Margaret of New Braunfels; grandchildren Jon Walter Germer and wife Abby, Erin Kay Germer, Joshua Porter Taylor and wife Erin, Darshan Owen Taylor and wife Maya and Daniel Joseph Taylor; great-grandchildren Trinity Kay Germer, Kamryn Elizabeth Germer and William Grant Taylor; brother William Franklin Grant and wife Murlene; nieces Jo Lynn Grant and Kay Atwood; nephew Bill Haldy; and great-nephew Scott Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alton R. Taylor; son James W. Germer; daughter-in-law Sammie Kay Germer; sister Francis Haldy and brother Jordan Lewis Grant.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. April 27 at Edgar Funeral Home, 2105 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-5808.

A service is 2 p.m. April 28 at First Baptist Church of Marble Falls, 501 12th St., with the Rev. Max Copeland officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet.
