Edward T. Barrie, 85 of Georgetown, died April 22, 2011. He was born in Hawthorn, N.J., on March 24, 1926, to Edward J. Barrie and Mary Elizabeth Traynor.

He married Joyce Holbein on Dec. 26, 1976. They had a fun-filled life together, playing lots of tennis and many rounds of golf when they weren’t riding their bikes and enjoying the outdoors.

He was a World War II Navy veteran. He graduated from North Dakota Agriculture College in Fargo, N.D. He retired in 1981 from the Department of Energy as regional director of a five-state area.

In addition to his wife, survivors include daughter Morna Campbell and husband Mark, and granddaughter Victoria, all of Idaho; son Boyd Barrie and wife Thuan, and grandchildren Madison and Mikala Barrie of Texas; grandchildren of his deceased son Jeffrey, Denzel and Heather Barrie, all of Oregon; stepdaughter Linda Hoskins and husband Ronald, and two step-granddaughters Rebecca and Rachel, all of Round Rock; stepdaughter Deborah Leff and husband Terrance of Dallas, and two step-granddaughters Christina Reid and husband Nick of Oklahoma and Lindsay Holmes of Dallas; stepson Rodney Carrico and wife Deanna, and three step-grandchildren Conner, Jade and Max, all of Round Rock.
