Ken Estes

Ken Estes, 77, of Burnet died May 17, 2011.
He was born in Live Oak County on Aug. 5, 1933, and was raised in Bishop, where he graduated from high school in 1951. After attending Del Mar Junior College and working for Baroid, he went to work for Celanese Chemical Co. at the Bishop Plant in 1957. He was transferred to the Bay City plant in 1963 as an operations shift supervisor. He retired as a human resources section leader after 36 years of service.
Since 1957, he had led the music ministries in various churches of the communities in which he lived and ministered in revival meetings and Bible conferences in surrounding areas. After retirement, he and his wife Jerry participated in Campground Ministries all over the United States. He retired from music ministry at Bay City Baptist Church in 2006 and moved to Burnet.
In addition to his wife of 25 years, survivors include children Tanya Moczygemba and husband Gery of Seguin, Gaylon McCoy of Alvin, Joel Estes and wife Kathy of Richmond, Eric Estes of Alvin, Darrell Hon and wife Geneva of Livingston and Deborah Overhoff and husband Mike of Kingwood; two brothers Tom Estes and wife Patty of Bishop and Tim Estes and wife Linda of Kingsville; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents E.C. (Easy) and Loyce Estes.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. May 19 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222.
A service is 1 p.m. May 20 at First Baptist Church, 108 S. Vanderveer in Burnet. Burial is 11 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
