Evelyn Alice (Arledge) Echols, 85, died June 26, 2010, in Bertram. She was born Feb. 15, 1925, in Beaukiss near Taylor to Noah Edward Arledge and Annie Bell Hubble.

She graduated from Thrall High School. After high school she worked as a hostess at the Night Hawk Restaurant in Austin. In 1958 she was married to Etheradge Edward Echols in Temple by the justice of the peace.

She was a Baptist. She was a wonderful person and mom. She loved her grandkids dearly. She loved her son-in-law very much, too. She loved to sew, work in the yard and make birdhouses.

Music and country dancing gave her pleasure. She is at peace now with no more hurting.  She will be dearly missed by her family.

Survivors include her daughter Carolyn Kay King and husband Michael of Bertram; grandchildren James Randell Price of Cedar Park and Rochelle Alice Price of The Woodlands; and great-grandchild Triston Cruz Perez of Cedar Park.

Graveside services are 2 p.m. July 2 at the Bear Creek Cemetery in Bertram with Glen Price officiating.

Funeral arrangements are by Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 E. Polk St. in Burnet, (512) 756-2222.
