Margaret “Peggy” Ligon Tatsch

Margaret “Peggy” Ligon Tatsch, 80, of Llano and Fredericksburg died May 19, 2011, in Fredericksburg. She was born in Austin on July 3, 1930, to Morton and Aillene Hardison, who preceded her in death.
She was raised in Llano. In 1950, she married C.S. “Happy” Ligon, with whom she enjoyed ranching for 18 years until his death. In 1968, she married Lt. Col. Clarence Tatsch, and after a tour of duty in Thailand, they returned to Llano to resume their shared interest in politics and ranching until his death in 1986.
She was a very gifted and talented woman. Continuing to ranch, she took on significant projects. She owned the Nail Peg Flower Shop, was past president of the Llano Women’s Culture Club, director of the Llano Historical Society and member of the Llano Fine Arts Guild.
She loved people and made friends wherever she went. Friends and family alike will miss her. The family thanks the staff of Heritage Place, Hill Country Memorial Hospital, Hill Country Hospice, and doctors Kenneth Terrell and Charles Burg for their kind and caring attention.
Survivors include her son Karl Tatsch of Llano; brothers Jack Hardison and wife Judy of Austin and David Hardison and wife Nancy of Fredericksburg; grandchildren Carta and Chanel Tatsch of Llano; and seven nieces and nephews.
A service is 9:30 a.m. May 26 at the Heritage Place, 96 Frederick Road in Fredericksburg, for residents and friends.
Another service is 2:30 p.m. May 26 at Lutie Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church, 800 Wright St. in Llano, with the Rev. Stan Troy officiating.
