David Howard Bennett

David H. Bennett, 68, originally from Marmet, W.Va., and a resident of Crockett, died May 18, 2010, after a long illness.
He was a husband and father, and was the first male in his family to graduate from high school. He began his career working for Union Carbide in West Virginia, and was employed by the company across the country. He later worked for Brown & Root, Stearns Catalytic, Jacobs Engineering, Dufrene and eventually for Samson Controls in Baytown.
Survivors include his wife Sharon Sue White Bennett of Crockett; daughter Rebekah Sue Bennett of Nassau Bay; son David Allen Bennett of Florida; grandsons David Allen Bennett Jr. and Adam Michael Bennett, both of Florida; brother Clinton Bennett of Florida; sisters Vivian Loveday of Marmet, W.Va., and Yvonne Wetmore of Lawrenceville, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Violet Opal Blanche Kinder and Jesse Emerson Bennett; brothers Eugene Bennett and Jesse Bennett Jr.; and sisters Arlene Bennett Carter and Wanda Lee Bennett.
A funeral service is 10 a.m. May 22 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home chapel, 900 Industrial Blvd. in Kingsland, (325) 388-6767.
Burial will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park, 4219 Park Road 4 South near Burnet.
