Ruel Victor Stone

<p>Ruel Victor Stone, 103, fondly known as R.V., passed away Dec. 4, 2012. He was born Nov. 11, 1909, in Mosheim, Coryell County, Texas, to Martin C. and Julia Cobb Stone.</p>
<p>On Jan. 17, 1935, he married Eavie Irene Johnson, and they celebrated 80 years of marriage before her death on June 16, 2012.</p>
<p>R.V. and Eavie started married life on their farm then moved to Houston, where he delivered milk. He decided he wanted more, so he went into construction and became a contractor. He also was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Burnet, where he donated his expertise as a contractor for the sanctuary.</p>
<p>R.V. and Eavie enjoyed a varied life. They loved to travel in their motor home, go fishing and were generous with their homegrown fruit and garden items. He loved to sing to Eavie. R.V.’s Bible was full of clippings of stories and jokes. He also knew how to save money on hearing-aid batteries, which friends laughed about.</p>
<p>R.V. is survived by a nephew, nieces and many friends.</p>
<p>A service is 2 p.m. Dec. 7 at First Baptist Church in Burnet with the Revs. Dr. Jim Morrow and Dr. Ricky Guenther officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park near Burnet.</p>
