Kynda Coffee is brewing a new chapter in Horseshoe Bay.

The locally-owned coffee shop is moving from Cottonwood Shores to 4909 RM 2147 in Horseshoe Bay, where it is expected to reopen soon. Kynda closed its Cottonwood Shores location on Sunday, Sept. 27, after serving the community there since 2020.

Owners Jonathan and Briseida Korstad said the new space will carry on the Scandinavian inspiration behind Kynda Coffee. “Kynda” means “to light, tend or kindle a fire,” which will be reflected in the shop’s design.

While there is no firm reopening date, the owners believe the new location could be ready by this coming winter.

Despite the move, Briseida said Kynda will remain a place for customers to gather, slow down and enjoy a cup of coffee.

“While our address is changing, the heart of Kynda Coffee remains the same,” Briseida told DailyTrib. “We’re incredibly grateful for our customers and the Highland Lakes community that has supported us along the way.”

Jonathan said the move marks the beginning of a new chapter for the business.

“We can’t wait to welcome you into our new home and share this next chapter with you,” he said.
