Pedernales Electric Cooperative recently awarded $100,000 in scholarships to 25 graduating high school seniors, including Andrew Houy of Faith Academy and Gage Keeton of Marble Falls High School.

The scholarships, ranging from $2,000 to $7,500, can be used toward tuition at a college, university, technical school or trade program. Recipients were selected from more than 460 applicants and were recognized during a reception on April 20 in Austin.

Houy is continuing his education at a trade school. Keeton is enrolled in an aviation training program in Georgetown working toward his commercial pilot’s license.

Since 1999, PEC has awarded more than $1.7 million in scholarships to more than 900 students.
