Sprint into Bluebonnet Festival festivities at the Bluebonnet Run

The 2026 Bluebonnet Festival is just around the corner, and there’s no better way to start the celebration than with a scenic run through downtown and beyond at the Bluebonnet Run, kicking into gear at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 11.
Sprinters can choose to compete in one of four categories: 10K, 5K, Senior 2K, and Kids 1K. Sign-ups are available online or in person at the YMCA of the Highland Lakes in advance, or available day-of for a higher price.
Race packets can be picked up at the YMCA of the Highland Lakes from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, April 10, or at the Main Street Stage on Race Day.

Race Day schedule
- 6:15 a.m. – Registration and packet pickup
- 7 a.m. – Kids 1K start
- 7:05 a.m. – 10K start
- 7:10 a.m. – 5K start
- 7:15 a.m. – Senior 2K start
- 9 a.m. – Race awards at Main Street Stage
Entry fee
- 5K and 10K – $30 through April 4, $35 April 5-10, $40 April 11
- Senior 2K – $15 through April 4, $20 April 5-10, $25 April 11
- Kids 1K – $15 through April 10, $20 April 11
Race information
- 5K and 10K – Chip-timed race, scenic course through Burnet and surrounding countryside, finish at the Historic Square
- Kids 1K and Senior 2K – Course around the Historic Square, all participants receive a medal
