As of Wednesday, Jan. 21, National Weather Service forecasts continue to show sub-freezing temperatures and chances of rain and sleet over the weekend throughout the Highland Lakes.

The Marble Falls, Burnet, and Llano areas will start the weekend with a 60 percent chance of rain Friday morning and a high near 63 degrees. Later that evening, temperatures will see a drastic dip towards the 20s, with precipitation climbing to 90 percent.

Saturday may provide the first glance of snow flurries this year as the morning starts off with possible rain that could turn into freezing rain and sleet. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent, with a high of 31 and low of 12.

Temperatures will remain in the freezing range throughout Sunday, with a high of 28 and low of around 11 degrees.

The weather should clear up by Monday, with sunny skies and a forecasted high of 37.

These predictions may adjust as the weekend draws closer and DailyTrib will update the story as needed.

The Marble Falls, Burnet, and Llano areas all have a similar outlook Friday through Sunday, with 70 percent chances of rain and drastic temperature drops, down into the 20s, expected on Friday night.

Temperatures will remain in the freezing range throughout Sunday, with a high of 35 and low of around 20 degrees.

Things should warm up by Monday, with a high of 44 on the current forecast.

These predictions may adjust as the weekend draws closer and DailyTrib will update the story as needed.
