Voters in Burnet and Llano counties made big decisions on the state and local levels at the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Highland Lakes area residents voted in line with Texas residents overall on 17 proposed state constitutional amendments. Many also voted to form or increase funding for emergency services districts across both counties. Sunrise Beach Village voters also chose to reject a proposed switch to a city manager form of government.

The following results are unofficial. Races must be legitimized by election canvassing by each governing body in the near future.

BURNET COUNTY

HIGHLAND HAVEN

ON THE BALLOT: Proposition A- $1 million water infrastructure bond

  • For– 121 votes, 66.12 percent
  • Against– 62 votes, 33.88 percent

BURNET COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT NO. 10

ON THE BALLOT: Proposition A- formation of ESD No. 10

  • For– 265 votes, 58.24 percent
  • Against– 190 votes, 41.76 percent

BURNET COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT NO. 11

ON THE BALLOT: Proposition A- formation of ESD No. 11

  • For– 434 votes, 82.98 percent
  • Against– 89 votes, 17.02 percent

HORSESHOE BAY

ON THE BALLOT: Proposition A- reauthorization of a quarter-cent sales tax for municipal street repair and maintenance

  • For– 45 votes, 51.14 percent
  • Against– 43 votes, 48.86 percent

Note: The result above is combined with the result of the vote on the same proposition for Llano County residents in Horseshoe Bay, which can be found below.

  • For– 704 votes, 54.66 percent
  • Against– 584 votes, 45.34 percent

LLANO COUNTY

LLANO COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT NO. 6

ON THE BALLOT: Proposition A- formation of ESD No. 6

  • For– 151 votes for, 63.18 percent
  • Against– 88 votes, 36.82 percent

LLANO COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT NO. 3

ON THE BALLOT: Proposition A- increase of maximum tax rate for ESD No. 3

  • For– 297 votes, 54.5 percent
  • Against– 248 votes, 45.5 percent

HORSESHOE BAY

ON THE BALLOT: Proposition A- reauthorization of a quarter-cent sales tax for municipal street repair and maintenance

  • For– 704 votes, 54.66 percent
  • Against– 584 votes, 45.34 percent

  • For– 45 votes, 51.14 percent
  • Against– 43 votes, 48.86 percent

SUNRISE BEACH VILLAGE

ON THE BALLOT: Proposition A- restructuring to a city manager form of government

  • For– 114 votes, 27.8 percent
  • Against– 296 votes, 72.20 percent

STATE PROPOSITIONS

Voters in Burnet and Llano counties voted overwhelmingly in favor of all 17 state propositions on the Nov. 4 ballot. Texas residents, overall, approved all 17 measures on Tuesday.
