HCCT ‘Young Frankenstein’ auditions June 16-17

Auditions for the Hill Country Community Theatre production of “Young Frankenstein: The Musical” are June 16 and 17 at 6 p.m. The theater is located 4003 FM 2147 West in Cottonwood Shores.
“Young Frankenstein,” which kicks off the HCCT’s Season 40, runs weekends from Sept. 26-Oct. 12.
Directed by HCCT Artistic Director Daniel Melton, “Young Frankenstein” is based on Mel Brooks’ cult film, a hilarious reimagining of Mary Shelley’s classic novel. From tap-dancing monsters to outrageous innuendo, this musical promises big laughs, larger-than-life characters, and show-stopping numbers.
Auditions
- Prepare one song in a similar style to the show. (No a cappella auditions.)
- Cold readings from the script will follow vocal auditions.
- A brief movement combination will be taught, so wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
- Auditions are open to performers of all experience levels.
“This show is the perfect storm of classic musical theatre, comedy, and bold character work,” Melton said in a media release from the HCCT about the auditions. “We’re looking for a cast ready to go full throttle with the humor, energy, and heart that make this show unforgettable.”
