For the second year in a row, Hill Country United Methodist Church has distributed $100 grants to a staff member from each of the seven Marble Falls Independent School District campuses.
Recipients were chosen at random during a drawing at a church event.
The grants can be used to fund any educational endeavor, such as purchasing classroom materials, instructional tools, or other resources that support students.
“This generous gift is a great example of our community stepping up for public education,” said MFISD Superintendent Dr. Jeff Gasaway in a May 6 media release from the Marble Falls Education Foundation. “These grants give our educators and staff the flexibility to meet real needs and create meaningful impact where it matters most.”
The 2025 grant recipients are:
- Angela Garcia, Colt Elementary
- Brittney Davis, Highland Lakes Elementary
- Lourdes Tompkins, Marble Falls Elementary
- Julene Metcalf, Spicewood Elementary
- Heather Greene, Falls Career High School
- Catherine Powell, Marble Falls Middle School
- Renee Foelsing, Marble Falls High School
According to Marble Falls Education Foundation Executive Director Jeanna Jette, these mini-grants can be a big help to teachers and other staff as the end of school nears.
“We’re approaching the end of the semester and a lot of school budgets are depleted, so teachers are pulling money out of their own pockets for projects,” Jette told DailyTrib.com. “(The $100 grants) may sound like a little drop in the bucket, but it can mean a lot for teachers.”
