The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service offices in Burnet and Lampasas counties are co-hosting a workshop series for new landowners in March and April. The programs offer foundational knowledge for cultivating landscapes and managing Texas Hill Country acreage.

Each workshop is $10 at the door. Programs are from 10 a.m. to noon on the following dates:

  • March 4—Gardening 101 at the Burnet County office, 607 N. Vandeveer St. in Burnet. Presentation and discussion on common gardening practices, planting times, plant and soil varieties, and soil testing. RSVP by Feb. 28 to 512-756-5463. 
  • March 25—Native Landscaping at the Burnet County office. Presentation and discussion on the benefits of native landscaping and wildlife, water conservation, and property aesthetics. RSVP by March 21 to 512-756-5463.
  • April 8—Wildlife Management on Small Acreage at the Lampasas County office, 409 S. Pecan St. in Lampasas. Presentation and discussion on wildlife management on 100 acres or less. RSVP by April 4 to 512-556-8271.
  • April 22—Livestock Management on Small Acreage at the Lampasas County office. Presentation and discussion on proper livestock management strategies on 100 acres or less. RSVP by April 17 to 512-556-8271.
