An anonymous Burnet resident made an easy $1 million off of a Texas Lottery Gold Rush scratch-off ticket purchased on Monday, Oct. 23, at Bertram Grocery, 320 Texas 29 West in Bertram.

“Everyone is asking, ‘Who won? Who won?’ because (the winner) has still not disclosed their name,” Bertram Grocery owner Shan Barai told DailyTrib.com. “Everybody is saying, ‘Give me a ticket! Give me a ticket!’”

Bertram Grocery has been abuzz with activity and lottery ticket sales are booming since the win was announced, Barai said.

As of Oct. 24, the person with the winning ticket has remained anonymous.

They’re not the only one feeling lucky. Barai said he is fortunate to have sold a million-dollar ticket in his first year in business at Bertram Grocery.
