Burnet County Precinct 2 Commissioner Damon Beierle was one of only 17 county officials statewide to be accepted into the V.G. Young Institute of County Government Commissioners Court Leadership Academy. Beierle recently completed the first session of the two-year leadership training program.

“I am honored to have been selected to attend this academy with other

commissioners from around the state,” he said in a media release issued by the academy. “It is a unique opportunity to learn and grow professionally alongside peers. This experience will help me be a better leader and ultimately benefit the citizens of Burnet County.”

Beierle was first elected to the Burnet County Commissioners Court in 2018. He was re-elected in 2022.

Applications to the academy are open to every county commissioner and judge in Texas’ 254 counties.

Beierle will spend the next two years attending training sessions that focus on developing the necessary skills and tools to handle the challenges of county government. The media release lists working with limited resources, increasing demand for services, emerging technologies, and changing population demographics as key issues to be addressed.
