Ashley Ann (Bartow) Ryan, 41, passed away Feb. 9, 2023
Ashley Ann (Bartow) Ryan, 41 years old, went to be with her Lord after a vehicle accident outside of Marble Falls on February 9, 2023.
Ashley was born on July 27, 1981, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Jimmy and Cathy Bartow were excited to welcome their precious baby girl into their family, especially since she already had two older brothers. She was immediately their special little girl. She was commonly called “Pistol Pete” by her father.
Ashley spent her younger years growing up in Kingsville, Texas. She moved with her mom to Salem, Oregon, in 1996 and attended Sprague High School, graduating in June 1999. She quickly adapted to her new school culture and made many friends. During high school, she became a cheerleader, participated in advanced curriculum classes, and graduated with honors.
After high school, Ashley was determined to return to Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin with her close cousin Jessica. Ashley was a typical college student: She studied hard and partied some, too. She graduated in December 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in advertising.
She worked various jobs before being hired by the Texas Department of Transportation as a public affairs specialist. After nine years with TxDOT, Ashley went on to other jobs that appealed to her wishes. In 2015, she moved to Marble Falls to be closer to her mother. At the time of her death, Ashley was working for The Home Depot in Marble Falls.
In the last year, Ashley had finally met her true love and soulmate, Charlie Pemberton of Marble Falls. Ashley and Charlie planned to marry this year.
Ashley’s kind heart, beautiful smile, and great laugh will be missed by all who knew her.
Ashley is survived by her parents, Cathy (Ron) Mennen of Burnet, Texas, and Jimmy (Trish) Bartow of Kingsville, Texas; her brother Shawn (Elizabeth) Bartow of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and nephew and niece Dylan (Jadah) Bartow of Sioux Falls and Taylor Bartow of London, England; her brother Brian (Jennifer) Bartow of Fischer, Texas, and nieces and nephew Bailey, Paige, and Tanner Bartow of Fischer; and half-brother Colt Bartow of Kingsville, Texas. She is also survived by her aunt Connie Bartow.
Ashley was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Mary Ann Ley of Kingsville, Texas; Johnnie and Gladys Bartow and uncle Johnnie Bartow of New Braunfels, Texas; cousin Robert Ley of Kingsville, and stepfather Andrew Griffith of Austin, whom she loved very much.
Ashley was fortunate to have wonderful uncles, aunts, and numerous cousins.
