Golden Hour Co. is a new boutique and salon in the heart of Kingsland. It is owned and operated by sisters Cassandra Hohmann and Faith Manning, who combined their shared passions for quality shopping and styling. Swing by their storefront at 2101 RR 1431 from 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, for Galentine’s Night, an event for gal pals.
The sisters offer a wide selection of handpicked and high-quality women’s and children’s clothing with an emphasis on inclusive sizing and up-to-date styles. The salon portion of the business does hair styling, coloring, extensions, and eyelashes with more services on the way.
“I decided that I wanted to open a clothing store at the same time she decided she was going to hair school,” Hohmann told DailyTrib.com. “We’re best friends. We do everything together.”
Hohmann dreamed up Golden Hour Co. in 2020, but the sisters didn’t officially team up until September 2022, when they took over the old RE/MAX building on RR 1431 and converted it into a pampering paradise.
“When women are getting their hair done, they might as well get a new outfit,” Manning said with a laugh. “We’re trying to do everything in one building.”
Manning runs the salon portion of Golden Hour, but all of her stylists are independent contractors with different specialties, depending on what you’re looking for.
“I like being my own boss, so I wouldn’t want to take that away from anybody,” she said.
During the Galentine’s Night event, women are encouraged to swing by to share drinks, dip a strawberry or two in a chocolate fountain, get custom friendship bracelets, or whip up handmade bouquets.
“We try to get the community in here because not a lot happens in the Kingsland area,” Manning said.
