Matneys of Marble Falls to celebrate 65th anniversary

Ben and Ruth Lanelle (Levick) Matney of Marble Falls will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on March 15, 2022. The couple raised “two spectacular children” and have “tons” of grandchildren, according to one of those children, Cindy Ginsberg. They had a successful business in Austin for more than 40 years and a strong Christian commitment, including singing in gospel quartets for years. Ruth began as a child in her family Trio, which ultimately became the Stamps Baxter Trio. She sang with the greats — the Blackwoods, Stamps, Statesmen, and Wills Family — and was even on “The Pat Boone Show” as part of Three Dots and a Dash. The couple sang together in church choirs and specials until 2019, including with daughter Cindy and her husband, Carl, as part of the group Ephesians 2:10.
