Burnet man arrested on California homicide charge awaiting extradition

A California sheriff’s department has charged a Burnet man with homicide and is in the process of extraditing him.
Roger Dale Rainwater, 62, is currently in the Burnet County Jail after Burnet County Sheriff Office deputies took him into custody Monday, Dec. 13.
A Riverside County Sheriff’s Department official said the agency is working to transfer Rainwater to its jurisdiction. The official stated Rainwater is wanted for a homicide that occurred near Perris, a city within the county.
Riverside County is located in Southern California east of Los Angeles. It stretches from the edge of Orange County to the Arizona border.
The sheriff’s department spokesperson said no other information would be released until Rainwater is in the agency’s custody.
According to Riverside County Superior Court records, the warrant issued for Rainwater is in regard to a Feb. 17, 2017, homicide.
Bond has been set at $1.05 million.
