Rain midweek followed by cooler temps

A couple of days of rain are in the forecast midweek for the Highland Lakes followed by autumn temperatures this weekend.
The week starts off sunny and in the mid-80s on Monday, Oct. 11, according to the National Weather Service, but clouds should move in overnight. Tuesday has a 30 percent chance of rain, jumping to 50-80 percent Wednesday. The area could see showers and thunderstorms.
Rain chances should taper off by Thursday, giving way to clearer skies on Friday.
As the clouds disappear, cool fall weather should finally arrive in the Highland Lakes. Temperatures could drop to the lower 50s Friday night. On Saturday, highs should top out in the mid-70s and lows in the upper 40s, according to the extended NWS forecast. Highs should again reach the mid-70s on Sunday.
