Ruby Potter celebrating 89th birthday

Ruby Nell (Horn) Potter celebrates her 89th birthday on Jan. 18, 2021. Born in Kerrville, Texas, to Edna and Fred Horn, she is the last of six children. She graduated from Kerrville Tivy High School in 1949. 

She and husband Richard Potter were married in San Antonio on Dec. 22, 1952. They have been married for 68 years and have three sons: Wayne of Martinez, California, and Alan and Andrew, both deceased. They have three grandchildren.

Ruby plays piano and loves to sing country gospel music. She and Richard are members of First Baptist Church of Burnet and love their Bible studies and many friends. She was the “Cookie Lady” for many years, making chocolate chip cookies at children’s homes in San Antonio, where she was a house-parent until retirement in 1987.
