VOLLEYBALL: Burnet opens playoffs against La Grange

The Burnet High School volleyball team (15-12 overall, 7-3 District 19-A) finished the regular season by sweeping Taylor (4-18, 2-8) 25-22, 25-18, 25-14 on Oct. 23. 

The Lady Dawgs now prepare for the Class 4A playoffs. They face either La Grange at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Thrall High School, 601 S. Bounds St. in Thrall. La Grange is the No. 2 seed from District 20-4A after finishing 11-1 and as co-champion with Giddings, which also finished 11-1 in district.

The Burnet sub-varsities each won and clinched district championships. The freshmen finished their season at 25-2 overall and 10-0 in district, while the junior varsity went 25-2 and 9-1 in district.
