The Burnet Bulldogs football team (2-0) won 29-21 over the Gonzales Apaches (0-2) in a pre-district road game Sept. 4.
BURNET HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior running back Marcus Escamilla had two touchdowns and 117 yards on 20 carries.
- Senior quarterback Jaxson Denton completed 12 of 24 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns, hitting six different receivers during the contest.
- The Bulldogs defense shut out Gonzales in the first and third quarters.
