Joel Richard Fish Jr., 60, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away Nov. 23, 2018. He was born to Joel and Louise Fish in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Joel spent most of his career working as a crane operator in the oil field in South Texas before moving to the Hill Country, where he took up carpentry. Joel and Jennifer lived on Lake Buchanan for a few years before settling on Lake LBJ. Joel loved to fish the local lakes. He was such a talented fisherman he even “caught a fish in a ditch” on a trip to Houston. He enjoyed fishing, crafting planters out of wood, tending to his vegetable garden, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jennifer of Kingsland; son, Curtis Fish of San Antonio; daughter, Sandra Mendoza and husband Lupe of Midlothian; grandchildren, Maddox and Matzen; sisters, Jan Holder and husband Jim and Lois Conovan and husband Jeff; and his parents, Joel and Louise Fish. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends also survive him.
A graveside service was Nov. 27 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet.
