Paula Green Bailey, 97, of Burnet died March 30, 2017

Paula Green Bailey, 97, passed away on March 30, 2017.

Paula was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who was born on Jan. 19, 1920, to Otto and Anna Limmer Kelm.

She was baptized on March 14, 1920, and confirmed on March 30, 1934, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Coleman.

Paula was a seamstress for many years and also worked for Gulf State Telephone Co. Then, she completed nursing school and did what she enjoyed most, which was working and caring for patients and friends at Sheppard Hospital in Burnet for 12 years.

She married Vernon A. Green on Sept. 21, 1941. Two children were born to their union, a daughter, Karon Thiem, and a son, Larry A. Green.

On Oct. 2, 1992, she married William Robert Bailey. Bob and Paula enjoyed their many years together attending senior centers for dancing, dominoes, and delicious meals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include her loving husband, Robert Bailey; daughter, Karon Thiem of Cedar Park; son, Larry Green and wife Nina of Georgetown; grandsons, Brent Williams, Brad Thiem, and Alan Green; loving granddaughter, Amanda Ward; great-grandchildren, Emerson Thiel, Wesley Thiel, and Tinsely Green; and extended family and friends who will all miss her dearly.

A funeral service was April 3 at Edgar and Jenkins Family Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444. Interment followed at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet.
