FAIRLAND — Two work vehicles from a rock quarry collided June 22 as they were traveling down a narrow two-lane Burnet County road, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The incident happened about 7:30 a.m. in the 6600 block of CR 120 in the Fairland subdivision.

A dump truck from Collier Materials, a nearby quarry operation, was traveling west and approached a Collier Materials panel truck traveling east when the two vehicles collided on the front driver-side bumpers. According to the DPS, the driver of the panel truck crossed the yellow line dividing the lanes.

Both drivers walked away from the accident without injury, the DPS reported.

According to crews on the scene, the dump truck driver said he could not avoid the collision with the other vehicle due to a utility pole in the right-of-way.

Crews from the Marble Falls Volunteer Fire Department and the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office rerouted traffic for about two hours until a wrecker service cleared the roadway.
