Francisca “Kika” Rodriguez went to our Heavenly Father on March 19, 2016, at the age of 86. She was born on Nov. 19, 1929, in Mercedes, Texas, to Santos and Josefa Garcia. She was raised and lived in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas.
Kika was well-known as the life of the party because of her humor and her delicious homestyle cooking. Her faith in God and her involvement in the church paved her way to her resting place in Heaven.
She is survived by her husband, Hipolito Rodriguez of Marble Falls; sons, Roberto C. Reyes of Orange Grove and Arnulfo Reyes Jr. of Marble Falls; daughter, Juanita G. Farias of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brothers Arturo Garcia of Dimmit, Jose V. Garcia of Edinburg, Roberto V. Garcia of Edinburg and Rogelio Garcia of Nampa, Idaho; sisters Guadalupe Ramirez of Crane, Eva Garcia of Marble Falls, Maria Hernandez of Friona, Ayda Lujan of Panhandle, Elida Flores of Amarillo and Juanita Hernandez of Johnson City; 36 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Francisca was preceded in death by her parents, Santos and Josefa Garcia; brothers Santos Garcia Jr., Erasmo L. Garcia and Ramon Garcia; and sister Delicia Cruz.
The family would like to thank Dorothy Spinks for the care and unconditional love she exemplified for Kika for many years. Our thanks also go out to all of the medical staff of the Granite Mesa Nursing Home in Marble Falls.
Visitation is 3-6 p.m. March 22 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008. A funeral service is 10 a.m. March 23 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Marble Falls City Cemetery.
