James Luther “Edd” Buntyn
James Luther “Edd” Buntyn passed away March 16, 2016, in Fredericksburg, Texas, at the age of 74. He was born Feb. 2, 1942, in Pontotoc to Viola (Moore) and Jake Buntyn.
Edd served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam War veteran and a member of the American Legion in Brady.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Buntyn; sons, Jess Luther Buntyn and wife Marion of Aurora, Colorado, and Roy Henry Buntyn and wife Tracy of Llano; brother, Manley Earl Buntyn and wife Danette of Miles; sister, Stella Mae McCormick and husband W.G. “Mac” of Houston; grandsons, C.J. and Donny Buntyn; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Cocoa.
Edd was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Susie Gibson and Frances Tybo.
Visitation is 6-7 p.m. March 17 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. A funeral service is 10 a.m. March 18 at the funeral home with Jill Tate officiating. A graveside service will follow at the Wagram Cemetery in Fredonia.
Pallbearers are Curtis Osbourn, Myron McLeod, Sam Tate, James Stotts, Richard Castro and Manley Buntyn.
