David A. Elders, 61, of Horseshoe Bay died Jan. 10, 2016

David A. Elders, 61, of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, passed away Jan. 10, 2016. He was born to Myran and Vola (Shanklin) Elders on Feb. 25, 1954, in Bonne Terre, Missouri.
Dave was a realtor in Horseshoe Bay and a member of the Highland Lakes Realtors Association. He enjoyed golfing, exercising, watching college football — especially the Texas Tech Red Raiders — and the Green Bay Packers. He loved to cook, especially for his grandkids, who discovered he was the best master chef in their eyes. He enjoyed fishing and teaching the grandkids how to fish with him.
Dave is survived by his wife, Kathy of Horseshoe Bay; daughters, Shannon Elders of Round Rock and Sara Elders of Dallas; son, Nick Dzurisin and wife Annie of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; brother, Dennis Elders and wife Vicki of Springfield, Missouri; two nieces, Lori and Jennifer; and nephew, Michael.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private memorial service is 1 p.m. Jan. 15 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008, with the Rev. Doug Lindley officiating.
