FROM STAFF REPORTS

MARBLE FALLS — Officials on Oct. 6 appointed Richard Westerman to fill an unexpired seat on the Marble Falls City Council.

Westerman will fill the unexpired term of the place 5 seat formerly held by Raymond Whitman, who resigned in May to take care of a family health issue.

Whitman was elected in May 2014. Marble Falls City Council seats are two-year terms.

Westerman served as the mayor of Marble Falls from 1997-1999.

He has been the president of JB Sales Inc. since 2003. He was the president of Design Showroom Lighting and Lamps from 1994 to 2002.

The council chose Westerman from a list of four applicants.
