FROM STAFF REPORTS

BURNET — City officials are asking people and drivers to stay clear of the Fort Croghan area after a technician inadvertently cut a pressurized side of a valve causing a large natural gas leak a little after 9 a.m. July 21.

According to the Burnet Police Department, Atmos Energy dispatched a crew to repair the problem, but police are asking drivers to avoid the area of the museum, 703 W. Buchanan (Texas 29) if possible.

Officials will provide an update when the repairs are completed.
