Authorities search for missing 50-year-old camper around Lake Buchanan

TOW— Authorities are asking for the public’s help to find a 50-year-old camper believed to have been intoxicated before he went missing in the middle of the night July 18 around Lake Buchanan, according to the Llano County Sheriff’s Office.
Crews continued their search July 21 for Dennis Dean Holtzclaw at the Lower Colorado River Authority’s Cedar Point Park and the surrounding area by land, air and water, where he is believed to have disappeared.
According to a news release, fellow campers last saw Holtzclaw about 12:30 a.m. that Saturday.
“It is believed that Mr. Holtzclaw was intoxicated at the time he went missing,” the release stated.
Holtzclaw is described as a white male, 6 feet and 180 pounds with hazel eyes and a clean-shaven haircut. He has numerous tattoos and was wearing black swim trunks with a white stripe.
The Texas Department of Public Safety, the LCSO, the LCRA and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are assisting with the search.
