Edna Lind Henry, 82, of Kingsland died June 26, 2015
On Friday, June 26, 2015, at Kingsland Care Center, our beloved mother, Edna Lind Downey – born July 22, 1932, in Lyons, New York – traded in her earthly body for her heavenly form.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Lois McAfoose and husband Don of Houston, Nancy Barnes and husband Steve of Savannah, New York, and Esther Downey of Marion, New York; sons Herbert Downey Jr. and wife Bette of Burnet and David Downey and wife Lynne of Lyons, New York; and daughter-in-law Linda Downey of Burnet.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Kenneth Downey.
To know Edna was to love Edna. She had a happy heart, always a kind word and a forgiving spirt. Edna’s greatest loves were her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her six children, sons- and daughters-in-law, 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Edna left a legacy of gentleness and love.
There will be a celebration of her life in Houston at 5 p.m. July 11 at Don and Lois McAfoose’s home. A burial service is 11 a.m. Aug. 15 in Lyons, New York.
