SPICEWOOD — The Lower Colorado River Authority has opened a new boat ramp at Muleshoe Bend Recreation Area on Lake Travis, providing boaters with easy access for fishing and other water-based activities.

“There isn’t another boat ramp in the area, so boaters can launch and explore a different part of Lake Travis they may not have seen before,” said Susie Baxter-Harwell, LCRA park operations manager. “This is a way park visitors can enjoy the easy access to the lake at Muleshoe Bend.’’

Muleshoe Bend, 2820 CR 414, is a popular recreation area known for its mountain biking and spring wildflowers. It also offers camping, swimming and wildlife watching. The park is owned and operated by the LCRA.

Construction of the new 600-foot ramp was completed in April. The boat ramp opened to the public after recent rains increased the level of Lake Travis.
