BURNET — Wes Strahan is expected to be named the girls head soccer coach at Burnet High School after the Burnet Consolidated Independent School District board of trustees meets at 6:30 p.m. June 15.
The regular board meeting is in the BCISD board chambers, 208 E. Brier.
“Wes has some great soccer experience working at Georgetown,” athletic director Kurt Jones said. “He was the head coach a number of years.”
Strahan has been a BCISD employee for at least six years.
Jones said he and other BCISD officials charged with interviewing candidates looked at a number of applicants for the position.
“We can’t hardly beat the experience Wes brought to the table in running the program,” the athletic director said. “Our human resources department, (Superintendent Keith) McBurnett and (Burnet High School Principal Mark) Kincaid and I have been in communication about Wes and other candidates.”
Strahan has demonstrated he can handle his duties. He is the coordinator of Student Attendance and Emergency Preparedness.
