Phyllis Faye Huisenga, 89, of Marble Falls, Texas, died June 2, 2015. She was born to Jake and Fae Janssen on Aug. 1, 1925, in Lake City, Iowa.

A graveside service is June 6 at Cook Walden Memorial Hills Cemetery in Pflugerville.

She was self-employed for 30 years and was a front desk manager at the Inn on Lake Travis for 25 years. She belonged to the Disabled American Veterans and was the commander for two years, and she also was a member of the American Ex-Prisoners of War group. She volunteered at the Temple VA Hospital for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Fae Janssen; two sons Danny Huisenga and Donald Huisenga Jr.; one great-grandson Jerry Lee Malone; three sisters Elva Batz, Lavon Anderson and Evelyn Twogood; and one brother Harold Janssen.

She is survived by her husband, Donald J. Huisenga Sr.; one son Daryl Huisenga; two daughters Zola Hedman and Chris Hall and husband Charlie; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
